Latest revision as of 13:31, 18 July 2012
Here is a list of food (plus a few other) things that need buying/making/sorting in the UK, in preparation for expo 2012.
The numbers assume roughly 508 expo days (from http://www.srcf.ucam.org/caving/wiki/Expo_2012/Who_and_When on 13th July). There is more info on http://www.srcf.ucam.org/caving/wiki/Expo_2008/Food, and probably other places too.
The numbers of things to buy take into account what is at basecamp and now top camp.
OllyB has his number for the Booker cash & Carry if it is needed (eg for custard, catering sized containers). For some things Asda/Tescos/Lidl/Aldi are cheaper anyway.
Purchased Food
- 190 curry meals: I decided to discount the 31 meals left at Top Camp, as they might be inedible (they contain liquid, might have frozen & burst), and be more generous with curries. They are by far the tastiest option and in all previous year apart from last one they did run out before the end of Expo. (Serena)
Planned Food
- 30 trays of flapjack to be made by Emma
- 10 trays of flapjack to be made by Serena
Top Camp Food

- 130 x curry meals (17 at basecamp, 31 top camp, plus 13 TC meals, plus 24 x 3 people packets)

Base Camp Food
- 2 x giant jars of Patak's curry paste (different flavours, eg balti and madras)
- peanut butter (2 large tubs from The Daily Bread, or small jars from supermarket if that is cheaper)

- giant size jar of mango chutney (from cash and carry)
Other Things
